    American Horror Story... is crazynuts.

I'm pretty sure that it's my favorite new show on TV this year. It's absolutely insane-o. It's creepy and messed-up and every single episode I watch I really have no idea what's going on at all, and I love that. I seriously love that I'm just as confused as the family who lives in that house.

Maybe it's just because I love Halloween so much that I enjoy being creeped out like this. It's been giving me nightmares. But it's cool because it's not like anything else on TV right now... it's not dumb like Glee, it's not a comedy with a laugh-track, and it's not a medical/law/cop drama. It's just different.

I love that the ghosts have such vivid, aware personalities. They're the best part of the show, hands down.

And apparently I'm going to let myself be auctioned off. I can safely say that's something that's never happened to me before.

A lot of my friends are going to the Friday Night Cabin Bonanza. Lydia, for sure, and even though I haven't talked to him yet, Ronnie will probably want to go, if he doesn't have to work. There are half a dozen other people I could probably rope into going without much effort -- any of us who went out clubbing, I'd bet. It's a Friday, it's a good night, and I actually don't have to work that night, either.

Going to the middle of the woods to party in the house of some girl I don't even know? Okay, I'll bite. It feels an awful lot like high school, except these are the kinds of things that I always heard about but never went to. I suppose it's okay to be irresponsible every once in awhile.

I say that like I'm always the most upstanding guy, always responsible, never gets into trouble? Yeah, I'm not that guy.

Maybe I've just been behaving myself a little too much lately. That very well could be.

Anybody else up for going? If not, then can anyone give me three good reasons why I should go?

So, the apocalypse didn't come, but everyone on Twitter was professing their love for yours truly at 3:30am last night. Just sayin'

Did people really think the world was going to end? Really? I learned my lesson when Y2K was supposed to happen. I emailed the girl I liked at the time, telling her that I wanted her to know I loved her, just in case the world came to an end. It didn't, and I looked like an idiot.

If the world comes to an end, I hope it'll either be done so soon that nobody sees it coming, or looks beautiful and I'm somewhere I can watch it like the end of Fight Club )

A lot of the guys I graduated with will be finishing college this semester. I'm not even close to being done. I guess that's okay. I mean, I've been working a lot, and I have to do that in order to pay for school, but it's just strange to me. There's even people I know who have gotten married and even started to have kids and set up families, and I just think that's bizarre. Maybe I'm just not really used to seeing myself as an adult yet, or whatever, but I think I'm way too young to even consider that stuff. But I guess it works differently for different folks, right? My parents got married when they were really young. It happens, but that doesn't mean it's any easier to relate to.

I went with Lydia to try out for the play on Saturday. It was a lot of fun. I don't know if I'll actually get cast or not, because I wasn't really prepared, but once I tripped on stage and the people doing the casting saw it and laughed. Now, normally, I might get embarrassed by something like that, but it was pretty funny, and I guess the play is a comedy, so maybe that'll give me an advantage? I don't know. I didn't really go into it expecting to get a part, just to have something fun to do.

Hey Tonia, what is that thing? A cupola? I almost called it a Capulet, but that's Shakespeare. Wanna go there sometime soon?

This is... the coolest thing I've seen... in a really long time.

    Hey Philadelphia! )

Everybody's been talking about Harry Potter, lately. That's pretty awesome. I know I'm not the only one who wished they went to Hogwarts instead of Heritage High School. I'm not the biggest fan out there or anything, but I can appreciate cool stuff when I see it.

I'm pretty stoked that we get the whole week off for Thanksgiving break, and then there's literally only two weeks of classes and finals and then more time of not being in school. It probably means I'll be getting more hours at work, but still. Being decidedly not wrapped up in academia makes everything better.

Oh, does anybody know if the rumors are true that they were interviewing some guy for the manager position at Teddy's? Somebody told me that Teddy was showing some dude around the restaurant the other day, but I wasn't working, so I missed it.

I've gotta thank everyone who came out to Sofie and Laura's on Saturday for the Halloween/birthday extravaganza. It was a real hoot and I had a lot of fun. I wasn't expecting whoever that guy dressed like Conan O'Brien to take his pants off -- but just because I wasn't expecting it didn't mean I was surprised he did it. The man knows how to have a good time, I'll give him that.

Yet another reason why I don't drink. I do a fine enough job looking like an idiot while completely sober! I underestimated how tall I made the headpiece to my Powdered Toast Man costume and kept banging my head on door frames wherever I went.

I am the master DJ, though. The music at the party kicked butt. Well, you know, with the exception of that Lady GaGa song that snuck onto my party playlist somehow. Really, I didn't realize that 'Bad Romance' was on my iPod in the first place. So, I'm sorry about that. I'm really glad I have friends who aren't afraid to dance, though. To anything, and not always in rhythm to the music, regardless of what's playing. It makes the transitions between Hockey song and Janelle MonĂ¡e go so much smoother. Well, okay, so both of those songs are pretty dance-tastic, but when people aren't afraid to shake their moneymakers to stuff they've never heard before? That makes my little music nerd heart go pitter-pat.

Who could ask for anything more?

    Oh so PRIVATE. )

[OOC note: Anyone who wants to know how Cody dances? The guy in the orange jacket in the Hockey video says it all.]

Alright, so I'm having a birthday party. We all knew this. I do it every year. I thought I was going to do it at Teddy's, but I realized that would just really suck for all of my work friends who would have to work the thing. I guess they'll still have to work regardless of whether I have my party there or not, but I know how insane-o it can get when there's a big party. Nofunsville for anyone who has to work, especially anyone who has to close. Yeah. Okay, so I'll spare you. I'm a nice guy, after all, and my birthday's all about FUN.

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 30th! Day before my birthday, but my birthday's on a Sunday this year, so we're going to party a little early. But it's gonna run well past midnight (because WHO actually sleeps around Halloween time? Seriously!), so it's practically actually on Halloween itself anyway. COSTUMES REQUIRED, YO. No matter how lame they are... but do something creative! C'mon, it's fun! Er, so the details of my costume are completely and totally 100% secret and only to be revealed on the night-of, and I'm hoping to convince Uncle Steve & Aunt Marilyn to let me have the party at the house... since... I don't know where the heck else I'm going to have it. Cross your fingers, boys and girls, chickens and squirrels!

BUT HALLOWEEN IS THE BEST HOLIDAY IN THE WORLD, YOU GUYS! There will be candy and costumes and craziness because that's how I roll. Bahahahahahahaha! Anybody who knows me and wants to come help me celebrate is totally invited. Bring friends! Bring treats! Bring tricks! Bring presents! Okay, just kidding. You don't have to get me anything, just come help me celebrate. Just don't try to spike my drinks, okay? I'm turning twenty-two, and I've gotten this far in my life without getting drunk, and I really don't want to blow that streak.

I was at work this evening, cleaning up after people and stacking plates, y'know, like I do every day, when there was a scene, man. Carl, the manager was in a big shouting match with Teddy, and they didn't even stop fighting as they headed through the main seating room or the bar. Teddy was chasing him or something, but it wasn't like Carl was scared of him, he was yelling right back, though he didn't throw anything. For those of you who are sad you missed it by not being there in person, or by foolishly not following me on Twitter (what is wrong with you?), let me bring you up to speed: Carl was sleeping with Teddy's wife! WHAT! SERIOUSLY? 100% TOTALLY TRUE.

Teddy was throwing plates and stuff and nearly ran me over! So I don't know if Teddy fired Carl, or if Carl walked out, but the Roadhouse has one less manager tonight than it did when I started my shift this afternoon.

Is it unprofessional of me to say now, since he's gone and all, that Carl was a huge jerk? Because he was. But it's gonna be a bit crazy until we get someone new to take his place.

Stop the presses. I'm actually going to get my guitar out, attempt to tune it, and attempt to sit and practice it for a whole hour! My fingers are going to hurt, but I figure if I think I ever want to actually get any good at it, I should put my monkey where my mouth is. My guitar is definitely a lady guitar, but she doesn't have a name.

Okay. I'll probably be back on my computer in a few minutes when I've decided that my fingers hurt too much, because they're pretty wimpy at the moment.
